Over the last five years, companies have paid out £1.8m in fines to the Business Software Alliance for using unlicensed software and in excess of £5.5m have been recovered as a result of FAST activities.
Software Theft affects us all. It is not just the IT industry that loses out
to software thieves, the end-user is often left in a vulnerable position.
They will not be entitled to technical support or have access to information
regarding upgrades. Illegal products may be incomplete, virus contaminated
or their functionality may be impaired.
We welcome any assistance from end-users in our work combating software theft.
