The Federation Groups started in 2003 to bring together Federation members with
expertise in specific areas and through these Groups provide information and advice to users,
either by way of seminars or articles produced for FASTtalk.
Asset Management Group (AMG)
The Asset Management Group was formed at the end of 2003 to tackle head-on the issue of organisations wasting money through poor management of their software assets.
Certified Reseller Group (CRG)
The aim of the Certified Reseller Group is to increase the integrity and professionalism of resellers who provide business end users with legitimate software and understand the FAST Audit Certification Programme. Members of this Group are trained on the legal complexities of licensing and on the programme that FAST Corporate Members go through to gain the FAST Standard for Software Compliance FSSC1-2004, a private standard recognised by the BSi and developed in collaboration with them.
FAST Legal Advisory Group (FLAG)
The FAST Legal Advisory Group supports FAST in monitoring legal issues. The Group consists of lawyers from some of the UK’s leading law firms.
Font Software Group (FSG)
The Font Software Group aims to increase the awareness that fonts are software too and protected by copyright law.
Information Technology Security Group (ITSG)
The Information Technology Security Group was formed in 2005 to assist Corporate Members establish and maintain secure and efficient IT systems for the workplace network environment.
Software Publishers Group (SPG)
This Group was established to define and propose Federation policy to promote the legal use of software.
