The FAST Legal Advisory Group, FLAG, supports FAST in monitoring legal issues. The group consists of lawyers from some of the UK's leading law firms.

FLAG meet several times each year to review legal developments affecting the industry in the UK, and determines whether action is required to alert appropriate governmental and other bodies to the industry's position on these issues.

In recent years, FLAG has made submissions to the D.T.I. and the European Commission on various directives including the European Directive on software and it's implementation, on desirable areas of reform.
